This project centred on capturing the identity of a place, and Huddersfield, with its dense Victorian architecture and deep-rooted textile heritage, felt like the right subject. A town that once sat at the heart of Britain's textile industry alongside Leeds and Manchester, its history is embedded in the fabric of its streets, quite literally.
The response was a photographic zine, a format that felt appropriate for work this tactile and place-specific. Shot on location, the project became an exercise in finding beauty in the familiar and translating a town's character into a considered editorial object.
